Simple introduction of Mineral crystal :
Mineral crystal is resistant to impact. This means that if you drop your watch, it won't shatter unless you drop it down the Grand Canyon.
It's also scratch resistant, which comes into play a little more often because there are a number of opportunities in a given day for your watch to be scraped against something. It's important to understand though, that 'impact resistant' does not mean the same thing as 'impact-proof', i.e. the mineral crystal can still be scratched if something really hard scrapes it strongly.
These kinds of dials are coated with a hardening material, but that doesn't mean they're impenetrable.
These watches are very strong, and they're usually more affordable than sapphire dial watches. Mineral crystal is commonly used in the manufacture of glass objects such as windows, containers, and watch faces, and it is often used as a less expensive substitute for sapphire.
It looks very much like a sapphire on a watch face, however. It's very often difficult to tell the difference unless you actually want to perform a scratch test on the two.
